This measure tracks the percentage of households with access to a high speed (broadband) internet subscription, a cellular data connection, or satellite internet. Subscription rates are broken down by age group. Access to high speed internet is critical to our region's prosperity, allowing users to communicate with each other.
Household subscriptions to high-speed internet continues to grow and now stands at 94.6% of all households in Southeast Michigan. The one lagging age group is 65 years and over, however its subscription rate increased in the last year from 85.5% to 87.5%.
